I bought an L-600 a week ago and hope to fully restore it. It's pretty much intact minus the power cord reel and a functioning case latch. Other than that it works and looks to be in decent shape. I want this radio for my own enjoyment. I have been trying to find the above mentioned parts with little luck. I would appreciate any advice or help from you ZTO guys.

in times past, there was an electromechanical device - called a 'vibrator' Don't you mean- Inverter. Vibrator leads to interesting Google searches. Enjoyed your site I am selling a 500 series on Ebay and needed some information.

I love these things. I bought a T6oo in perfect condition for $85. It said it worked. Got it home and could only get a slight sound out of it. I had to find another one that worked. I got another off of ebay for $45 bucks. It looked like it had been around the world and back many times, just beat up. It worked great right off though. Then I switched the tubes and put them in the other one and off it went. Now I also have a h500 too in good condition. I want to get the book The Royalty of radios. I'm hooked now.

Hi there I see you mention our KRC-A-2 90 Volt battery replacement. Are you aware it was updated a couple of years ago. It is no longer produced on veroboard and only draws a few microamps when in standby. The efficencey of the inverter is much improved and the unit runs from a pack of AA batteries. TonyWestbrok.

Hi there,

I pulled one of these from the recycle bin in work today, went out and bought 9 D batteries, filed a couple of the rusty battery contacts, flicked the mains/battery supply switch a back and forth a few times (thanks for the tip) .... and the thing sprung to life... couldn't believe it.

FM works fine, the shortwave bands seem to be picking up something although they are a little quiet, I will know better when I get it home as I am in a large metal building with a thouse computers running...
